After installing Backup Exec 2012 SP2 and Backup Exec 2010 R3 SP3, backups to disk device using the Backup Exec Agent for Microsoft Exchange agent with Granular Recovery Technology (GRT) enabled exhibit a significantly lower job rate than jobs with GRT disabled or jobs that do not include Exchange resources.

Debugging the remote agent on the Exchange server when performance degradation occurs will reveal large delays during the snapshot process, for example:

Disable GRT or work around the long running job by adjusting scheduling.
