Backup Set contents for SQL Databases shows incorrect date in Modified Time column

After the Backup of a SQL instance completes successfully, if the details of the Backup Set are opened and the Contents section reviewed it can be seen that the Modified Time column reports incorrectly (for instance the date will be sometime in the 1970s)
