There are two issues addressed with this update:
1. Altiris Task Management Server install will not restart IIS, and will leave it in a stopped state after the install.
2. Altiris Task Management Server will shut down if the Altiris Agent did not register with the Notification Server. If the agent is not registered, it will not have a GUID in the registry. The Task Server will then receive an error and shut down.
Notification Server 6.0
Altiris Task Management 6.0.1354.0
Altiris Task Management Server has been updated to version 6.0.1356.0 to fix these issues. The task server will no longer shut down IIS during the install, and will retry reading the GUID until it has been populated. This will log a warning until it succeeds.
If you have version 6.0.1354.0 you may experience these issues during a new installation. You may update the Task Management Server using one of the following methods:
1. Download the updated executable from: http://www.solutionsam.com/Solutions/6_0/Altiris_TaskManagement_6_0.exe
2. Update solution center within the Notification Server console, and choose to install Altiris Task Server version 6.0.1356.0
