Lotus Domino database restore hangs.

Issue



The restore of Lotus Domino 8.5.2 databases hangs and never completes.  It appears that the offline database gets restored with the .00x extension but when Domino server is called to recover the database, the job stops progressing.


Error



Enabling debug on the Domino server will show the database file has been restored and recovery is being called but never progresses.  These entries will repeat over and over until the job is aborted:

Cause



It was found that Lotus Domino server 8.5.2 had an issue with the API call NSFRecoverDatabase not returning. 


Solution



This issue was addressed and resolved with Lotus Domino Server Fix pack 3 for 8.5.2.  Applying this fix pack resolved the restored issue.  More information is available here:
