Sharepoint agent Content Database backup fails with 0xe000fe36 - Corrupt data encountered

The incremental or differential backup of a Sharepoint content database fails with the below errors. Note this failure may occur with or without GRT enabled and with or without Verify enabled for the backup job.
Final error: 0xe000fe36 - Corrupt data encountered. See the job log for details.

Workaround: Perform only full backups as this issue has only been seen to occur with differential or incremental backups.
