Technical Solution


The incremental or differential backup of a Sharepoint content database fails with the below errors.  Note this failure may occur with or without GRT enabled and with or without Verify enabled for the backup job.


WARNING: "SPP SharePoint\Content-DB 1 (SPSSQL\SHAREPOINT\ShareDB)\ShareDB" is a corrupt file. This file cannot verify.

Final error: 0xe000fe36 - Corrupt data encountered. See the job log for details.

This issue is resolved in Backup Exec 2014 or later versions. 
 To resolve this issue and receive the new Backup Exec improvements please upgrade to the current version of Backup Exec
 NOTE:   Symantec continues to focus on the current release and future releases, there are no plans to address this issue by way of a patch or hotfix in earlier versions of the software at the present time.
