Issue



When attempting incremental backups of multiple virtual machines using the Agent for VMware the incremental backup may fail with the following errors.

Completed status: Failed
Final error: 0xe00095b4 - Incremental\\Differential backup methods are not supported for this VM. The backup job failed, since the option 'to fall back to a full backup' was not selected.
Final error category: Resource Errors

Debug Log Errors:

[fsys\vmvcb]         -  Number of Read Buffers: '4'
[fsys\vmvcb]         -  Size of Read Buffers:'1024'KB

[fsys\shared]        - startReadCacheThread(): Allocating 4 buffers of size 1024
[fsys\vmvcb]         - Could not find the UUID 'UUID_OF_VM' of the VM. Previous UUID: ?????????_
[fsys\vmvcb]         - A config change was detected, based on the setting the incr\diff falls back to a FULL backup.

Solution



Workaround:

1. Perform only full backups of virtual machines showing this issue

or

2. Seperate the virtual machine showing this issue to a seperate backup job.
