SEP SBE .Cloud: How to manually download definitions.

Issue



You need to manually download definitions for a .cloud agent or group(s) of agents.


Solution



From customer portal (https://hostedendpoint.spn.com) to entire Group(s):

1: Open the Computers tab.
2: On the left navigation-pane under Actions click Perform Group Actions.
3: In the dialog check the groups that need updated definitions and check the box on the bottom of the dialog for Run LiveUpdate.
4: Click Perform Action.

For a specific Windows XP(x86), Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8/8.1 computer:

1: Open the Symantec.cloud Status view either located on the Taskbar or in the Start Menu.
2: Click Update Definitions.

For a specific Server 2003, 2008, 2012 computer:

1: Browse to the directory C:\Program Files\Symantec.cloud\EndpointProtectionAgent\*Version Number*\Bin
2: Launch SepLiveUpdate.exe

For a specific computer with an Intelligent Updater .exe package:

1: Navigate to: http://www.symantec.com/security_response/definitions/download/detail.jsp?gid=sep
2: Download the appropriate .exe file for your SEP version and Operating System
symrapidreleasedefsv5i32.exe for SEP installed on 32 bits OS
symrapidreleasedefsv5i64.exe for SEP installed on 64 bits OS
3: Run the file on the clients you wish to update and follow the instructions on the screen.

Rapid Release Definitions for a specific computer:

1: Go to the rapid release virus definition web site
2: Download the appropriate .exe file for your SEP version and Operating System
symrapidreleasedefsv5i32.exe for SEP installed on 32 bits OS
symrapidreleasedefsv5i64.exe for SEP installed on 64 bits OS
3: Run the file on the clients you wish to update and follow the instructions on the screen.
