Application GRT backup of Exchange 2010 completes with exception V-79-57344-38748 - Backup Exec was unable to prepare Microsoft Exchange resources for Granular Recovery Technology (GRT) operations. Therefore you will be unable to perform GRT-enabled restores of Microsoft Exchange data for '\\<Server Name>\Microsoft Information Store\public database' from this backup.

V-79-57344-38748 - Backup Exec was unable to prepare Microsoft Exchange resources for Granular Recovery Technology (GRT) operations.  Therefore you will be unable to perform GRT-enabled restores of Microsoft Exchange data for '\\<Server Name>\Microsoft Information Store\Public Folder Database' from this backup.

Solution



Workaround:
Assign a drive letter to system reserved partition on Exchange server

OR

Run Remote Agent for Windows Server (RAWS) based backup of Exchange database.
