Unable to boot the virtual machine restored from the Granular Recovery Technology (GRT) enabled backup sets on the disk-based storage if they are duplicated from the deduplication disk storage. This issue can be observed in both Hyper-V and VMware environments.
Note that the issue does not reproduce if GRT is disabled for backup or the virtual machine is restored from the backup sets on the deduplication disk storage.
This issue is resolved in Backup Exec 2014 or later versions.
To resolve this issue and receive the new Backup Exec improvements please upgrade to the current version of Backup Exec.
