Unable to perform backup and restore when selecting a deep path with Agent for Linux (RALUS.)
The backup job fails with the following error. The restore job completes successfully, but folders and files in the deep path are not created.
V-79-57344-33967 - Directory not found. Cannot backup directory.
Final error: 0xe00084af - The directory or file was not found, or could not be accessed.
This is caused because the path length is limited to 1750 bytes.
In the UTF-8 encoding, almost all Japanese characters use 3 bytes. Thus, the path length is limited to 583 characters if all characters are Japanese characters.
1) To get backups of a long path, the top level selection should be used instead of going to the actual deep path by browsing in the UI. Do not browse till end of path.
2) For backing up selected files, on very long path directories, those files can be copied / relocated on a shorter path using tar or physically moving those files to the smaller path directory.
Directory not found. Cannot backup directory.
The directory or file was not found, or could not be accessed.
