Restore from an NDMP vendor backup set fails after upgrading from Backup Exec 2010 to Backup Exec 2014

The catalogs for all NDMP vendor backup sets, except NetApp/EMC/IBM N-series, that are in Backup Exec 2010 do not have information that is required in Backup Exec 2014.

 


Error



 The provider that was selected in the NDMP restore job options does not match the provider that was selected in the restore selections.

 


Solution



 Do the following:

  1. Rerun the existing backup job.
  2. On the Backup and Restore tab, in the list of servers, double-click the server backed up.
  3. In the Backup Sets view, expand the NDMP vendor backup set,  right-click the backup set, and then click Restore.
  4. Manually select the vendor name, such as Isilon, from the drop-down list. The correct provider details appear in the Restore wizard.
