Issue

When attempting to restore System State data, the restore job fails. If Symantec Endpoint Protection is installed on the Backup Exec server, the job failure may be due to a conflict. The Symantec Endpoint Protection setting Tamper Protection can cause restore jobs that contain System State data to fail. This is a known issue.

Error

A failure occurred writing an object.

Solution

Disable Tamper Protection in Symantec Endpoint Protection before running a restore job that contains System State data. Re-enable Tamper Protection when the restore job is complete.

For more information about disabling Tamper Protection, refer to the Symantec Endpoint Protection documentation.
