Backup Exec Remote Agent crashes on vixDiskLibVim.dll if resolving a hostname fails when restoring a VMware virtual machine

Technical Solution


The Backup Exec Remote Agent for Windows Systems service (beremote.exe) on a media server crashes on vixDiskLibVim.dll if resolving a hostname fails when restoring VMware virtual machines using the Agent for VMware Virtual Infrastructure (AVVI). The following error is reported in the Application Event Log and SGMon Log when the process crashes.

Update hosts file on Backup Exec Server to resolve hostname
