Technical Solution


A granular restore job of Sharepoint file data may hang and not restore any data.  In this situation the job will not complete and may require the Backup Exec services be restarted to get the job to terminate.


Workaround:  To recover granular data from backup in this situation,  one of the following options may be used:

 - A full content DB restore may be performed

 - The DB may be redirected into another Web Application

 - The content DB may be redirected to SQL and the Sharepoint tools used to recover granular data.
