I.  DOWNLOAD INSTRUCTIONS
==========================
1) Download NB_GDM_45_S0977_<6 digit number>.<platform>.tar into the
  /tmp directory.

       where <6 digit number> is an internal tracking identifier

       where <platform> is:  alpha, hp_ux, linux2.2, rs6000, solaris

2) Extract NB_GDM_45_S0977_<6 digit number>.<platform>.tar
       /bin/tar -xvf NB_GDM_45_S0977_<6 digit number>.<platform>.tar

       This will create the files:
       Vrts_pack.install
       VrtsNB_GDM_45_S0977.README
       VrtsNB_GDM_45_S0977.<platform>.tar.Z

**NOTE**
This Maintenance Pack is not supported on AIX 4.3.3.x because IBM has chosen
not to support JRE 1.4 on pre-5.1 systems, and AIX 5.1 is supported only if it
is a CHRP system.

II. KNOWN ISSUES
=================
Description:
   When changing one or more failure threshold values and pressing the Apply
   button, the changed values are still shown. When closing the dialog and
   going back into it, the default values are shown, not the changes.
   However, the changes have actually been applied. To see the changes in the
   dialog, either exit the application and restart, or temporarily change to a
   different GDM domain, and then reconnect to the previous GDM Server.  When
   going back into the Failure Thresholds dialog, the changes will be seen.

Description:
   The Jobs section in the Master Server Summary for a managed server shows the
   wrong number of jobs failed in the look back interval.  It always says 0 or 1
   failed jobs.  When applicable, the number of failed jobs is correctly shown in
   the tooltip for the managed server in the left pane and in the Jobs detail
   section header for the managed server.

IV. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
==============================
As root on the NetBackup for Global Data Manager client:

1) Install Maintenance Pack binaries.

       cd /tmp
       /bin/sh Vrts_pack.install

==========================
V. UNINSTALL INSTRUCTIONS
==========================
Note:  This will ONLY uninstall the Maintenance Pack from your local machine.

   1) Close the NetBackup user interfaces.

       Make sure the NetBackup server has no active jobs running (for
       example, backups, restores, or duplications).

       If a database agent is being used, such as Oracle,
       ensure that the database services are stopped.

   2) Change directory to the patch save directory.
       Substitute the pack name for ${PACK.EN_US} in the following command:

          cd /usr/openv/pack/${PACK.EN_US}/save

   3) Run the un-install script:

         ./Vrts_pack.uninstall

   4) Verify that the pack uninstalled successfully by checking
       /usr/openv/pack/pack.history.

   5) If update_clients was run after the pack was originally INSTALLED,
       run it again after that pack is successfully UNINSTALLED.

   6) If necessary, restart the NetBackup and Media Manager daemons:
       /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/goodies/netbackup start
