Problem
PC Transplant Solution will send status events to a Notification Server if the Altiris Agent is installed on the workstation where you run a PC Transplant job, even if the solution is not installed in Notification Server. This will generate errors in the Notification Server logs, though, since the Notification Server will not know what to do with those NSEs.
A close look at the errors shows that the NSE identifies itself as StandAlone, indicating that this was, at least at one time, by design. However, now that PC Transplant Solution is no longer supported or functional as a solution in Notification Server post 6.0 SP3, this "feature" is no longer useful, and is a confusing problem for most Admins.
Environment
Notification Server 6 SP3 without PCT Solution
PC Transplant Solution Stand-alone or executed from Deployment Solution (which uses the Stand-alone version)
Cause
This was by design when the PC Transplant Solution was supported by Altiris and is only a problem now because the solution is no longer supported.
Solution
This issue was resolved in PC Transplant 6.8.1043. See knowledgebase article 29518 for a list of the latest downloads of PC Transplant
