Problem
How to perform a silent (unattended) upgrade of Quota Advisor 4.1 to VERITAS Storage Central(tm) SRM 5.0
Solution
Follow these steps:
1. Place the following files in a common shared folder:

- SC42SC5.exe
- SC5SilentInstall.exe
- StorageCentral_SRM_[Standard or AD Edition]_5.0.msi
2. Run the SC5SILENTINSTALL.EXE application from within the shared folder. Enter all required data into the fields, and click "Generate". This will create a file in the shared folder called MSIBUILD.BAT. This batch file contains the command required to kick off a silent installation.
3. Open the MSIBUILD.BAT in Notepad. Place the following line above the existing install script "SC42SC5.exe" (Figure 1)

NOTE: Following the installation, a reboot of the server is necessary. This is disabled by default in the script, may however be automated by removing the "ReallySuppress" parameter from the MSIBUILD.BAT command.
4. Save the change made to the MSIBUILD.BAT and close Notepad

5. Open a command prompt and change the directory to the shared folder containing the MSIBUILD.BAT
6. Run the MSIBUILD.BAT file. The installation should take no more than three to five minutes. The command window should look similar to the screenshot below:
