How to configure logging information for the Open File Option when using the Remote Agent for Netware (RANW)

Solution

By default, when Backup Exec is started with OFO enabled, OFO creates a file named OFMNW.LOG in SYS:SYSTEM\OFM. This is the standard debug report, and will be requested by VERITAS Technical Services in the event of any problems with OFO.

The information contained in this file can be increased and the file size limited by adjusting variable settings in the files SYS:SYSTEM\OFMCDM.CFG  and SYS:SYSTEM\OFM\OFMNW.CFG.

Do not edit this file while RANW and the Open File Option are running. Otherwise, your changes may be un-done when the Open File Option exits. Before editing this file, use the BESTOP command to shut down the RANW and the Open File Option.

To increase the information contained in the OFMNW.LOG file, edit the files SYS:SYSTEM\OFMCDM.CFG and SYS:SYSTEM\OFM\OFMNW.CFG and ensure that the value for the setting VerboseMsgLogging is 1 rather than the default of 0.

To decrease or increase the maximum size of the OFMNW.LOG file, edit the file SYS:SYSTEM\OFM\OFMNW.CFG and change the value for the setting LogFileMaxSize accordingly. This setting is in kilobytes, with a default value of 1024 (1 Megabyte).
