Selecting Run when synchronizing fails to import package

Problem

Selecting Run on the Wise Software Repository page causes the errors shown below:

Error importing packages into Software Manager from Software Delivery: The given path's format is not supported or Error importing packages into Software Manager from Software Delivery: The path is not of a legal form.

Skipping the import because the package is not accessible at "\\APL-PR1-03308\WISE SHARE POINT\Releases\Windows\Windows XP - KB824141\update.inf" from the server.

Environment

Notification Server 6.0.6074
Wise Integration Component 6.1.126, 6.1.127

Cause

Package path includes a colon (:) and Software Delivery Packages option in Configuration > Solution Settings > Software Management > Wise integration component > Integration Options was selected.

Solution

In the Resource tab of the Altiris Console go to Resources > Software Management > Software Delivery Packages > Windows and double-click to display the window.

Check to see if a Resource Type listed has a Name that contains a colon.
Double click on the line that includes the Name with a colon to open the details for that package.
Change the Package Name in the Package tab to something that does not contain the colon and select Apply.
Go to the Program tab, change the Name field and select Apply.

Go back to Configuration > Solutions Settings > Software Management > Wise Integration component > Wise Software Repository and select Run.

The logfile can be viewed on that computer at http://localhost/Altiris/NS/Logview.aspx.

Note: If packages should only be pulled from Wise Package Studio, and no packages should be pushed from NS, go to Configuration > Solution Settings > Software Management > Wise integration component > Intrgration Options and ensure that both Software Delivery Packages and Patch Management Packages are deselected.
