Closing SecurityExpressions Console causes a Microsoft Visual C++ runtime error

Technical Solution


When I run an interactive audit from the SecurityExpressions Console with the notification on the Audit tab set to enabled, a Microsoft C++ runtime error is displayed.


Build: SecurityExpressions 4.0 build 416
Application: Console
Host: Windows 2003
SPF Version 927
DataBase: SQL
Target: UNIX


Notification is enabled on the Audit tab of the SecurityExpressions Console.


A hotfix has been created to correct this problem.

The hotfix file ( is located in the article information frame to the right of this article.

To install this hotfix:
  1. Unzip the file.
  2. For SecurityExpressions Console, copy secexp.exe to the following directory:

    C:\Program Files\Altiris\Security Management\SecurityExpressions

  3. For AuditExpress, copy audexp.exe to the following directory:

        C:\Program Files\Altiris\Security Management\AuditExpress

If the installation directory is different from default, change directory above accordingly.
