Problem
Notification Server events for SecurityExpressions are not being created for multiple machine lists. This failure occurs when machine lists are exported from multiple Notification Server computers to the same SecurityExpressions Console database, and then audit the lists and use the Send a Notification Server Event option.
This is only if you have installed SecurityExpressions.
Environment
Build: 417, Application: SecurityExpressions Console
Build: 6.2.90, Application: NS Integrated Component for Security Management
Server Host: Windows* 2003
Database: SQL Server
Cause
In the Notification Server Connector. The connector will not accept a machine list in the NSServerName tag.
In this case the <name>NSServerName</name> value should have multiple values in the Notification Server Server Name, to indicate where the Machine list was exported from.
Solution
A hotfix has been created to correct this problem. The hotfix file (SecurityExpressions-4.0-hf1.zip) is located in the article information frame to the right of this article. To install this hotfix:
- Unzip the file
- For SecurityExpressions Console and SecurityExpressions Server, copy nsconn.exe to the following directory:
C:\Program Files\Altiris\Security Management\SecurityExpressions\Connectors\AltirisNS - For AuditExpress copy nsconn.exe to the following directory:
C:\Program Files\Altiris\Security Management\AuditExpress\Connectors\AltirisNS
If installation directory is different from default, change directory above accordingly.
