Problem
The Next button on the IIS Existing Web Site dialog is enabled even though a Web site has not been selected. If the user continues through the installation without making a selection, the installation will crash. To duplicate follow these steps (ensure that more than the default Web site exists on the server before installing and that Hotfix KB_32745_Hotfix.exe is installed on a computer with Wise Installation Studio/Express or Wise Package Studio):
- Create a Web Application installation.
- Add a virtual Directory.
- Select the Virtual Directory and then the Details button.
- Select Web Site UI.
- Select Display Runtime UI.
When installing the MSI, do not select a Web site. You will see the Next button is enabled but only an outline appears around the default website. Click Next. The installation crashes with a fatal error.
Environment
Wise Installation Studio 7
Wise Package Studio 7 SP2
Windows Server 2003
Cause
No Web site is selected which causes the crash.
Solution
