Error
142 file does not exist
Solution
After upgrading to NetBackup 4.5 Maintenance Pack 6 (MP6),
4.5 Feature Pack 6 (FP6), status 142 errors may start occurring when attempting
a Block Level Incremental (BLI) backup. The troubleshooting guide for error 142
states that the "file does not exist." The 142 status shows up in the
NetBackup activity monitor.
The failed job's detail status reveals:
VxFS dynamic linked libraries for NetBackup are
not installed. Please visit the VERITAS support Web site,
and refer to TechNote number 262225 for further information.
