The SMTP test notification is delivered successfully, but the actual notification fails to be delivered to the recipients.

Problem
The SMTP test notification is delivered successfully, but the actual notification fails to be delivered to the recipients.
Solution
While configuring simple mail transfer protocol (SMTP)
notifications on Backup Exec (tm), the test notification is delivered to the
recipients but the actual notification related to the job is not delivered.
The following error is observed in the Sgmon.log file if it is run along with the job configured to send notifications:
beserver: 0x01fe 14-0325:183942:Alert Job Success, Need Notify(0=yes):0, Need EventLog:11, Need Trap:32
beserver: 0x018e 14-0325:183942:Notify Return Code:a0003, batch:278, index:0
beserver: 0x018e 14-0325:183942:Notify Return Code:a0003, batch:278, index:1
beserver: 0x01fe 13-0325:183942:JobManager::JobComplete() DoJobCompletionTasks() returned 0x0
One of the following methods can be used to resolve this issue:
a. Replace the file SmtpMail300.dll
The following error is observed in the Sgmon.log file if it is run along with the job configured to send notifications:

One of the following methods can be used to resolve this issue:
a. Replace the file SmtpMail300.dll
OR
b. Re-run the installation of Backup Exec
a. Replacing the file SmtpMail300.dll:
1. On the Backup Exec GUI, go to Tools | Backup Exec Services
2. Select the media server and click Stop all Services
3. Go to the NT folder present at X:\Program Files\VERITAS\Backup Exec\NT
where X:\ represents the drive where Backup Exec is installed
4. Rename the file SmtpMail300.dll to SmtpMail300.old
5. From the Backup Exec installation CD, open the file called DATA.cab present at X:\WINNT\Install\BE
where X:\ represents the CD-ROM drive.
6. In Data.cab, look for a file called F22070_SmtpMail300.dll.4720227D_76B6_4279_B0D3_C95B9D1310BE
7. Extract this file on the desktop and rename the file SmtpMail300.dll
8. Copy this file to the NT folder of Backup Exec
9. Start all the Backup Exec services
OR
b. Re-run the installation of Backup Exec
1. Stop all Backup Exec services
2. Rename SmtpMail300.dll present in the NT directory to SmtpMail300.old
3. Go to Add/Remove Programs
4. Select VERITAS Backup Exec for Windows Servers and click Change
5. Click Next on the Welcome screen
6. Select Local Install
7. Click Next on the serial numbers screen
8. Click Next on the Local Features screen
9. Click Install
10. After the installation, click Finish
a. Replacing the file SmtpMail300.dll:
