Issue

Dynamic Content not updating the text replacement

When you add Dynamic Content to your XML files, the actual source file is modified by Wise to include a comment, such as

<xmltag><!-- WISEMETA: default="[Property]"--></xmltag>

To add Dynamic Content, go to File Details ->Dynamic Content tab.

How ever for our installation which uses dynamic content, below are the steps  to reproduce:

1. Create an installation that has 2 Features.
   A) Each feature (F1 & F2)  were created with conditions on them, and are linked to checkboxes.
2.  Each feature installs a config file.
   A) F1- Test1.exe.config
        F2- Test2.exe.config
  Both config files have dynamic content enabled.

When running the installation, if the default (both features installed) both config files are installed and the text is replaced correctly.  However, if either of the features are installed alone, it does not update/replace the text.

Environment

Wise Installation Studio 7 SP1

Cause

If a file containing dynamic content is not installed (for any reason, i.e. conditions on a component, the feature that contains it is not installed...), the following files that contain dynamic content are installed however the dynamic content they contain is  not updating.

Solution

If possible install the application with both features. Otherwise no workaround at this time.
