This TechFile provides information about the Array Support Library (ASL) for Hitachi 9500 arrays.
For general information about ASLs, refer to TechNote 249446 (link in the Related Documents section of this TechFile).

Package Version: 2.0,REV=01.15.2004.11.34
Supported versions of VERITAS Volume Manager: 4.0
Note: If you need the ASL for Volume Manager 3.2 and 3.5, please refer to TechNote 268512 (link in the Related Documents section of this TechFile). ASL will support i/o fencing feature from  DBED/AC9iRAC and SFCFS/RAC  on Solaris 8 and 9 only


Supported Arrays: Hitachi 9530,9531,9532,9533,9570,9580,9585 ( A/PG )
A/P and A/A  mode is *****NOT****  YET SUPPORTED in ***ANY*** CONFIGURATION  
Note: This ASL supports the  Shadow-Image  feature  with  Volume Manager.
Limitation : IF Enclosure based naming is used , then Shadow-Image recognition does not work correctly.
At the bottom of this TechFile, click on "Download Now" to download the ASL package
After downloading   Hitachi-95xxV.tar_268895.tar.gz, extract the file:
# gzip -d Hitachi-95xxV.tar_268895.gz
# tar xvf Hitachi-95xxV.tar_268895
Before adding any ASL package, make sure VERITAS Volume Manager 4.0 is installed and enabled (the vxdctl mode command should return enabled):
# vxdctl mode
mode: enabled
To install the package type:
# pkgadd -d . HTC-9500V
After the package is installed, you must run the vxdctl enable command to claim the disk array as an Hitachi array:
# vxdctl enable
After running vxdctl enable,  run the following commands to ensure that ASL is correctly installed. You should see "libhtc9500V.so" in the output of the vxddladm listsupport command:
# vxddladm listsupport | grep -i df600
libhtc9500V.so       HITACHI                        DF600, DF600F
#vxddladm listversion libname=libhtc9500V.so
libhtc9500V.so has version string: vm-4.0-rev-1. VXVM version: 4.0
