When trying to backup an SQL database, an error on a query to database occurs.

0xa000FE29 - Access is denied to the Remote Agent


Solution




 1. Make sure that the user that the Backup Exec Remote Agent for Windows Servers Service in the Windows Services Console is set to use Local System Account.
 
2. Check to see if the server that Backup Exec is trying to backup is online and available on the network.  DNS issues can prevent the backup from occurring.
  
3. Check to make sure that the user name supplied to Backup Exec in NETWORK > LOGON ACCOUNTS has Domain Administrator or equivalent rights
 
4. Ensure that the following rights are provided on SQL Instance where the database reside,
- sysadmin
- server admin
- security admin
- dbcreator
 
5. Verify that if the Incremental / Differential method to backup the databases is selected in the Microsoft SQL tab in the backup job, the Master database is not selected for backup.
