Problem
NetBackup 5.0 Patch push install fails with "The system cannot find the file specified."
Error
The system cannot find the file specified
Solution
This has been
seen to occur with both VERITAS NetBackup (tm) 5.0 Maintenance Pack 1 (MP1) and
Maintenance Pack 2 (MP2). The fix for this issue was not included in Maintenance
Pack 3 (MP3) but is targeted to be included in Maintenance Pack 4 (MP4). This
only appears to occur when a "push install" is attempted by selecting an
installation type of Select from available computers on the network (see
Figure 1).

The target
computer is then selected by browsing the domain (Figure 2):

After the
target server is selected and moved to the Destination Systems pane, when
the Next button is selected the following error will be seen (Figure

Workaround:
1. Start the
installer. Select Select from available computers on the network. Click
Next.
2. Copy
Maintenance Pack.msi and Data1.cab to the %TEMP%\X86
directory of the server from which the push install is being initiated. These
files would be obtained from the location from which the install was originally
attempted whether it was from a local directory or from a CD.
(To determine
the location of %TEMP%, open a CMD shell and
run echo %TEMP%. Usually it is something
like C:\Documents and Settings\UserName>\Local
Settings\Temp\X86.) If the X86 directory does not exist, it can
simply be created.
3. Proceed with
the install
