Adjusting the VERITAS Storage Exec (tm) 5.3 Managed Resources console performance

Solution

The Storage Exec 5.3 Managed Resources console displays objects 60 at a time by default. When many objects are being managed (>2000),  this display rate may be unacceptably slow. You can adjust the display rate of the managed resources console using two parameters in the registry.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\VERITAS\Storage Exec\5.0\Performance
"MrFirstFrame"=dword:0000003c
"MrSecondFrame"=dword:00000060

MrFirstFrame is the number of records displayed in the first pass. MrSecondFrame is the number of records sent for every other frame. A low number is recommended for MrFirstFrame (60 or less). A larger number can be used for MrSecondFrame.
Example:
If you had 2060 managed resources and wanted to get all records in two refreshes, set MrFirstFrame = 60 and MrSecondFrame = 2000
To add these keys to the Storage Exec registry, run the attached perf_273547.reg file. Then adjust the display registry as needed
