  • For versions 12.5 and above - Tools> Support Utilies> Run the Debug Monitor for active debugging.

2. Copy SGMon.exe from the location above to the install path for the RAWS or DLO Agent is installed.

NOTE: In later versions of Backup Exec SGMon is present on the remote machine and there is no need to copy SGMon.exe to the remote machine.

For versions 11.x and above - X:\Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec\Agents\DLO\ or X:\Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec\Agents\RAWS For each location, X:\ is the drive Backup Exec was installed on (by default it is C:).

3. Double-click SGMon.exe to start the utility

4. Select the following Options the SGmon.log file would be created.  This should be gathered and sent into Technical Support.

  • Job Engine, RAWS, Agent Browser
  • Capture to file

For versions 11.x and later the location for this file is X:\Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec\logs\ directory.
