Problem
How to configure VERITAS Storage Exec (tm) to be cluster aware
Solution
Storage Exec can operate in a cluster in a manner that will allow Managed Resources to be maintained even if a shared drive moves from one physical node to another. Below are steps that explain how to run the Cluster Wizard to configure Storage Exec to be cluster aware.
1. Open Storage Exec, select the Information desk on the left hand pane, select "Configuring Storage Exec for a clustered environment" on the right hand pane as in Figure 1.

2. The VERITAS Storage Exec Cluster Configuration Wizard appears as in Figure 2, click Next

3. Select the first option to add, remove or reconfigure the Storage Exec cluster configuration, and click Next, Figure 3

4. In the Configure Storage Exec Resources window, Figure 4, notice the cluster resources on the left hand pane. By clicking the right pointing button in the middle, the cluster groups can be added to the list of cluster resources managed with Storage Exec.

In Figure 5 is an example of what the window looks like when all resources have been selected.

5. Upon clicking Next in Figure 5, the wizard will create the cluster resources in the selected cluster groups. Once the wizard completes, click the Finish button as in Figure 6.

6. Now open Cluster Administrator and select one of the groups that was selected in the Cluster Configuration wizard. Notice the presence of the Storage Exec resource. Typically it will be displayed in the format of "cluster_group_name" followed by the phrase "Storage Exec."
