VERITAS StorageCentral (tm) 5.2.322 Service Pack 2

Solution



StorageCentral 5.2 Service Pack 2 for Build 322 resolves problems in all editions of StorageCentral Build 322.  A list of fixed issues is provided below. For more detail, view the Service Pack 2 Release Notes.


Installation Instructions
This section provides instructions to install StorageCentral 5.2 Service Pack 2 for Build 322.  These instructions apply for all editions of StorageCentral Build 322.
Note:  If you are installing on an Active Directory edition of StorageCentral, you must be a member of the domain Admin group.
1. Unzip SP322002_274554.zip

The zip has three files:  one setup file (SP322002.exe), one batch file (InstallSC52SP1.bat) for silent installation, and one batch file (UninstallSC52SP2.bat) for a silent uninstall.
2. Shut down the StorageCentral Microsoft Management Console (MMC) if it is up
3. Install the update
For an interactive installation, run SP322002.exe. Follow the instructions in the installation wizard. No reboot is required.
For a silent installation, run InstallSC52SP2.bat.  No reboot is required.
Uninstall Instructions
This section provides instructions to uninstall StorageCentral 5.2 Service Pack 2 for Build 322.  These instructions apply for all editions of StorageCentral Build 322.
Interactive Uninstall  
1. Shut down the StorageCentral MMC  if it is up
2. From your pc's desktop, select Start | Settings | Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs
3. Find VERITAS StorageCentral 5.2 Service Pack 2 for Build 322 in the list and click it
4. Click Remove. The system asks you to confirm that you want to remove the service pack.
5. Click Yes to confirm you want to remove the service pack. If the "Fatal error during installation" error message displays, check the log file named ServicePackLog.txt.  This log file is located on the system root drive and contains an explanation of the problem.
No reboot is required.
Silent Uninstall
1. Unzip SP322002.zip.
The zip has three files:  one setup file (SP322002.exe), one batch file (InstallSC52SP2.bat) for silent installation, and one batch file (UninstallSC52SP2.bat) for a silent uninstall.
2. Shut down the StorageCentral MMC console if it is up.
3. Run UninstallSC52SP2.bat.  No reboot is required.
4.Check the log file named ServicePackLog.txt, located on the system root drive.  This log file contains either a statement regarding the success of the uninstall or an explanation of why the uninstall failed.
