It is possible to find out which version of EV is running on a client through either Outlook or the registry. On the EV server, the information is held in the registry.

Warning: Incorrect use of the Windows registry editor may prevent the operating system from functioning properly. Great care should be taken when making changes to a Windows registry and when viewing the registry.. Registry modifications should only be carried-out by persons experienced in the use of the registry editor application. It is recommended that a complete backup of the registry and workstation be made prior to making any registry changes.

1. To locate the version information from the registry, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\KVS\Enterprise Vault\Install\Version ( For 32 bit OS) on either the client or server.

If you have 64bit OS then everything is under a WOW6432Node key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\KVS\Enterprise Vault\Install\Version.

2.  On client machines, the version of EV is also shown in Outlook. Within Outlook click on Help and click About Enterprise Vault. If using Outlook 2010, click on File | Enterprise Vault

The table below details the EV version numbers and builds.
