Problem
FSR Wizard hangs during ISO image creation at some point. This does not depend on FSR media type (CD or DVD). Following error is logged in the windows application log:
28.02.2008 2:16:57 Application Error Error (100) 1000 N/A SUPPORT Faulting application DRWizard.exe, version 6.20.2760.0, faulting module DRWizard.exe, version 6.20.2760.0, fault address 0x000399d3.
Environment
Recovery Solution 6.2.2760 (SP2)
Cause
Issue is caused by buffer overflow when Full System Recovery (FSR) image tries to process a file with a path longer than 260 characters.
Solution
A fixed DRWizard.exe is attached to this article. It can be downloaded by clicking on the link to the right of this article.
To resolve the problem do the following:
- The fixed DRWizard.exe should be placed into \windows\Downloaded Program Files prior to FSR image creation in case you have such a problem.
- Note that Windows Explorer cannot be used for that purpose. You should copy the file either using a command line or some other file manager such as FAR Manager, Total Commander, etc.
