Problem
On a highly loaded server (in terms of memory management) with RSA FAL driver (rsafal.sys), the computer can go to a blue screen.
Environment
Recovery Solution 6.2.2760 (6.2 SP2)
Cause
At some point, the RSAFAL driver may try reading a block from the memory (RAM) that has already been unloaded to the page file. Such operation will cause a blue screen to occur.
Solution
In case you have experienced a blue screen on your server running Recovery Solution Agent on it, it is strongly recommended that you update the RSAFAL.sys driver (attached).
In order to replace the FAL driver on the client please do the following:
- Disable the existing FAL driver by going to Device Manager > View > Show hidden devices > Non-Plug and Play Drivers > Altiris FAL driver Properties > Driver tab > Startup type > Disabled
> Reboot. - Copy the updated FAL driver over existing on in C:\Windows\system32\drivers.
- Enable the FAL driver back and reboot.
