Problem
How does HP SIM Security Work?
Solution
Because of the number of calls we have received recently asking how to configure HP SIM to work with our HP SIM Connector, we have provided the following link to the HP site. Although this reference document is actually for HP SIM v5, HP SIM v4 should be configurable in the same manner in regards to HTTP and SSL.

You will note that on page 14 of this document, it refers to the ports 50002 and 50003 being used for SSL and HTTP respectively. The HTTP entry is super scripted with an 8. Notes for Superscript 8 refers to two files, globalsettings.props and mx.properties, and the appropriate settings. These files can be can be found in the config folder, for example:
X:\Program Files\HP\Systems Insight Manger\config
This document link is provided to address the specific issue of how to configure HP Sim to enable HTTP listening, but has also been provided as a courtesy for any additional information that might be applicable to your specific environment.
