Problem
Recovery Solution agent may lose connection to Recovery Solution server if network interface changes.
Environment
Recovery Solution 6.2 SP1
Cause
Recovery Solution agent fails to detect socket re-creation when network interface changes.
Solution
The attached hotfix for client computers needs to be applied to the Recovery Solution Agent.
It can be applied the following way:
- Stop the Recovery Solution Agent Service on the client computer.
- Browse to %Program Files%\Altiris\eXpress\Recovery Solution Agent folder on the client computer.
- Replace the old binaries with the new ones from attachments.
- Start the Recovery Solution Agent Service on the client computer.
Manual replacement of binaries on a client requires killing explorer.exe process.
All client binaries also need to be updated to the corresponding Data1.cab. The Data1.cab needs to be updated so that new Recovery Agent installations will have the hotfix. It can be modified using ASPack.exe utility. More about ASPack.exe is available in article 24583.
