Environment

Recovery Solution Agent version 6.2.2760 (SP2)
Microsoft Windows* Vista (all versions)

Cause

Recovery Agent is not able to enumerate file-based symbolic links. Symbolic links feature only appear in Windows Vista (commonly used by *nix systems). See http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/cc162494.aspx for more details.

Solution

Attached NDMFALS.dll for 32- and 64-bit clients supports file-based symbolic links.

Note! Hotfix 24 - 43336 is required as a prerequisite for the hotfix #26.

This binary should be replaced on existing client(s):

- Stop RS Agent service

- Replace binary in "C:\Program Files\Altiris\Recovery Solution Agent\NDMFALS.dll"

- Start service

Binary also needs to be updated to the Data1.cab. The Data1.cab needs to be updated so that new Recovery Agent installations will have the hotfix. It can be modified using ASPack.exe utility. More about ASPack.exe is available in article 24583.
