KNOWN ISSUE: Memory leak in Altiris Service during Licensing Refresh calls

You may see some or all of the following symptoms:
- Many instances of the following error appear in the NS log files.
Description: Unable to get the client policies for the specified request (Request: <Request configVersion="2" hash="6c910fba-7982-083e-56e8-3d713efb5f1c" compress="1"><WrkstaGuid>d7b86523-1213-4c6e-a205-f87ee720e763</WrkstaGuid></Request>, Exception: System.OutOfMemoryException: Not enough storage is available to complete this operation.
- Memory useage by the aexsvc.exe process continually growing
- The aexsvc.exe process uses a nearly fixed amount of CPU resources when no activity is actually occurring.
Notification Server 6.0 SP3, Rollup 8 or less.
A memory leak occurs while enumerating installed license certificates in the certificate store.
This issue has been resolved beginning with Notification Server SP3 Rollup 9, this has since been replaced with Notification Server SP3 Rollup 13. We would recommend installing the latest Rollout, as it includes all fixes from the older versions.
NOTE: Additional steps are required if Helpdesk is installed on the Notification Server:
- Install R9, or higher, on your Helpdesk server from Solution Center
- Run the following command on the Helpdesk server:
Regsvr32 “<ProgramFilesPath>\Altiris\Notification Server\bin\aexlicense.dll”
- Restart IIS.
Go to Start> Run. Type CMD and click OK. Type iisreset and enter.
