Problem
Clients getting an error stating "You must have administrative rights to run HPDiags" and logging in to the machine with an Administrators account does not work..
Environment
HP Client Manager 6.2.x
HP Client Manager 7.0.x
Cause
Not completely sure of the exact cause of this, but it looks like it is more than likely caused by either a bad upgrade or install.
Solution
On the client machine that is producing this error, go in to the registry and first make a backup of it just in case this fix does not work for you. Then find the key value HP-Diags located in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion > Run and remove it. If you have multiple machines experiencing this issue a script can be written that you can push out to your Clients that will remove the key, however as this would be considered a custom script it would need to be done by you as it isn't something support offers.
