How to monitor progress for Server Space Management Job of Recovery Solution Server?

Solution



To see the progress monitor for Server Space Management Job of Recovery Solution Server for Recovery Solution 6.2.2801 (SP3) build, install 'Altiris_RecoveryServer_6_2_SP3_KB45826.exe' on the Recovery Solution Server.

Note: “Hotfix KB45826” is dependent on “Hotfix KB45825” and should be installed on top of Hotfix KB45825 to make new functionality available. “Hotfix KB45826” is installed on Recovery Solution Server while “Hotfix KB45825" is installed on Notification Server.

“Hotfix KB45826” installed on Recovery Solution 6.2.2801 (SP3) build with pre-installed HotFix KB45825 allows to use new functionality on Recovery Solution Job Queue page:

  • ability to see details of running “Server Space Management” server job
  • ability to see details of running “Delete Marked Items” server job
  • and ability to see details of running “Integrity Check” server job

Known Issues and Notes:

  • Unable to uninstall “Hotfix KB45826” using Add/Remove programs.
    • Solution: Use Browse feature to point to original MSI package (e.g. C:\Program Files\Altiris\Altiris\Notification Server\NSCap\Bin\Win32\X86\Recovery Server Package\AeXRSServer.msi) to proceed with uninstall.

  • Stored procedures in Recovery Solution database: GetDelBlobRecs.sql, Reports_ServerJobHistory.sql and Reports_GetMetaJobInfo.sql which are included in “Hotfix KB45826” are not replaced by original stored procedures from Recovery Solution 6.2.2801 (SP3) after uninstallation of “Hotfix KB45826” and remain in Recovery Solution Database.

  • “HotFix KB45826” install may prompt to perform a system restart for the configuration changes made to Altiris Recovery Solution Server to take effect.
