    • License Status Report
    • Tasks with disabled advertisement

Resolution steps for v4:

  • Extract the attached CombinedPatchFixes-v4.zip to a directory of your choosing on the Notification Server.
  • Run the CombinedPatchFixes.bat file from the folder you just extracted the files to.
  • Note: the v3 provides the ability to select the the optional or recommended without installing them all automatically.
    • The check provided in the v4 requires SQL 2005 or higher.

Important Notes about this update:

  • This runs configuration files that will cause the Altiris Service to be stopped and started during the process.
  • Both versions of this fix, have been tested, and should execute in SQL 2000 without any problems.
  • There are also some SQL Scripts that are run through the Altiris Core, so they will run whether or not SQL is on the same server as Altiris, for they will update through the Notification Server.
  • The batch wrapper checks for the existence of the aexconfig.exe file in the default location ('Program Files\Altiris\Notification Server\bin') for the c, d and e drives.
  • The batch wrapper returns exit code -234598746 if it does not find aexconfig.exe and updates cannot be installed.
  • The xml and config files have been updated to ensure we can identify whether a NS was updated with this fix.
  • A file named '#46144-Verify_Installation.sql' was added at the root of the archive. This SQL query allows users to verify whether the 11 updated stored procedure and the 11 update items installed properly on the target system.
  • In previous versions of this fix the folder structure created was different. For version 4, the folder structure was simplified to only include 3 sub-folders, all located under the root:
    • config [This folder contains the config files to update the core SQL objects]
    • Items-Optional [This folder contains the various optional items we will update]
    • Items-Recommended [This folder contains the recommended items we will update]
  • The additional reports are installed to 'Reports> Software Management> Patch Management> Software Update Summary'.
    • Drill down options for the Compliance and Vulnerability reports (Computer, Update and Bulletin) to a details view of the specific Computer, Update or Bulletin.
    • License Status Report
    • Tasks with disabled advertisement
