Known Issue: Maintenance windows that have their repeat schedule set to “No Repeat” may not run

Issue



If you configure a maintenance window policy (menu path: Settings > Agents/Plug-ins > Maintenance Windows) and set the repeat schedule to “No Repeat”, the maintenance window next activation time and duration values are not passed on to the Altiris Agent.

After an Altiris Agent receives the policy, you can open the Altiris Agent UI to verify the maintenance window settings (click Settings, and then select the Maintenance Windows tab). The maintenance window is listed, but contains no Next Activation time nor Duration value.


Environment



Symantec Management Platform 7.0 SP2

Cause



This issue occurs when the start date (or daily time, if the start date is the current day) are in the past. 

The default start date of all maintenance windows is not the current date. It is hard-coded as November 1st, 2007.


Solution



The maintenance window works correctly if the specified start date and daily time period is in the future.

To specify the start date of a maintenance window:

  1. In the Maintenance Window page, click Advanced.
  2. In the Advanced Options window, set the appropriate start date, and then click OK.
