Technical Solution

"HW Logical Devices" data fails to load into the Notification Server's Symantec_CMDB database. Further investigations shows that the NSI for this data class is missing required c0 key data. On occassion, a device will not return a 'DeviceID' value but inventory creates a row entry in the NSI for the device. The NS has configured this device as a key field in the dataclassattribute table and rejects the inventory data.

Inventory Solution 7.0.1085.

The device is not returning a DeviceID value, which is required by the Notification Server 7.x database.

This will be resolved in a future update of Inventory Solution 7.1.

As a workaround, running the following SQL query allows this data to be processed.

ALTER TABLE Inv_HW_Logical_Device

ALTER COLUMN [Device ID] [nvarchar](256) NULL
