Peoplesoft 8 CRM attachments load slowly on systems with Workspace Streaming Agent (SWS 6.1 SP1 HF1)

Issue



You experience delays using attachments in Peoplesoft 8.0 CRM client.

Environment



Workspace Streaming 6.1. In a test environment this issue occured on Acer 7600 G, Dell D520 Optiplex, and HP Compaq D530 hardware.

Cause



This issue is caused by a slowdown in the Streaming filter driver due to a large number of open file requests in the CRM application.

Solution



The Streaming Agent in the attached hotfix contains an optimization to decrease attachment load times in this scenario. This fix should be installed only if you are experiencing the issue described.

This fix is for Workspace Streaming 6.1 SP1 only, make sure you are running this version before applying this fix. After applying this hotfix the Agent will be version 6.1.1.195.

To update the Streaming Portal:
  1. On the Streaming Server, download and extract Workspace_Streaming_6_1_SP1_HF1_portal.zip.
  2. Copy install.iss and clientversion.txt (attached to this article) to Program Files\Symantec\Endpoint Virtualization\Workspace Streaming\Server\Launchserv\webapps\launchserv\new
  3. Restart the Launch Server service.

After copying these updates the latest version is installed when users connect to the Streaming Portal.

To update setup.exe:

Replace the existing setup.exe on the Streaming Server with the version in Workspace_Streaming_6_1_SP1_HF1_setup.zip (attached to this article).
