Issue

"syseventconfd" errors may be seen on boot-up, even after VERITAS Storage Solutions and VERITAS Cluster File Solutions 4.0MP2 is applied on Solaris.

Error

error : syseventconfd: process xx exited with status 3

Solution

The following commands must be executed after applying Storage Solutions and Cluster File Solutions 4.0MP2 on Solaris, to prevent the syseventconfd error being seen on boot-up.

$ unlink /etc/rcS.d/K29vxvm-vsshutdown
$ ln -f /etc/init.d/vxvm-vsshutdown /etc/rc0.d/K29vxvm-vsshutdown

With the above change, all restart commands except 'reboot' will work correctly.
