Backup Exec's BEUTILITY can be used to perform maintenance on the Desktop and Laptop Option (DLO) database instance.

Solution

The Desktop and Laptop Option uses an MSDE database instance named BKUPEXECDLO, which operates separately from the Backup Exec database instance. Both the Backup Exec database and the DLO database can be maintained using the Backup Exec database maintenance options. Use BEUtility to perform database operations on BKUPEXECDLO. The DLO database is backed up and restored automatically each time the Backup Exec database is backed up or restored.

For more information on how to perform DLO database maintenance, please refer to Related Documents.

Note: For the Desktop and Laptop Option (DLO) database, only the Alert History setting applies. DLO does not have job history, job logs, or reports.

Additionally BEUtility may be used to perform database maintenance functions on the DLO database (Figure 1).
In order to use BEUtility, in 9x and 10x, go to the <Drive Name>:\Program Files\VERITAS\Backup Exec\NT directory (default location), and double-click on BEUtility to run it.
In 11x, go to the <Drive Name>:\Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec\NT directory (default location), and double-click on BEUtility to run it.
