The Error " V-79-57344-65245 - A Failure occurred accessing the object list" occurs during a Volume Shadow Copy Services (VSS) backup.


Error



V-79-57344-65245 - A failure occurred accessing the object list.


Cause



This error may  be received during any VSS backup, including System State, Exchange, SQL, or any other Shadow Copy/Open File Option backup. It is most commonly found on servers acting as a Domain Controller (DC).

 


Solution



In most situations, this issue is resolved by installing Microsoft's Volume Shadow Copy Service update package available for Windows Server 2003 ( http://support.microsoft.com/kb/940349 ).

If this update does not resolve the issue, it may be due to other environmental issues such as Distributed File System (DFS) links
