IT analytics Cube setup not accepting permissions changes

Problem
When adding or removing users from IT analytics Cube setup page, upon clicking save the page reverts back to previous to making the change. The new users are not added, nor existing users removed.
Environment
I.T analytics 6.1
Cause
Within the Cube permissions group were accounts that had been deleted from AD. All that was left of these to identify these was an orphaned SID.
As IT analytics was unable to verify this SID the whole save processed failed and the permissions reverted back to what they were.
Solution
Directly from the IT analytics database, under users clearing out the orphaned SIDS resolved the issue.
